La Croix Valmer

Photos by Pete Navey and Me

These are some photos from my trip to La Croix Valmer last summer.  All the good weather in London has made me wish I was in France or Italy by the sea.  So this is my little reminder of the good times had, eating, at markets and by the sea.

Black Summer

Shoes Martina Pink, Dress Zara and Bag Yves Saint Laurent Downton.

This simple Zara dress served me so well on my recent trip trip Asia.  I found it was simple enough that it went with my bags and shoes, but still fun and cool to wear.
I always take this leopard bag with me when I travel.  It is the perfect hand luggage come shopping bag size - plus its super cute.
This weekend in London was beautiful, so I spent it outdoors bbqing and hanging out with friends. I hope wherever you are reading this, you had a wonderful weekend too.

Gold is Cold

This is the third in the series of four beauty tutorials I filmed with Kay Montano for Because.
This is definitely my favourite so far. I hope you like it too!
This is look I sometimes do with Mac glitter to jazz up simple evening outfits.  You always have a good time when you have glitter on.  Have a go this weekend and report back.

You can see the piece on Because HERE!

Peanut Butter Jelly Cookies

Photos By Me

When I was in NYC for fashion week in February I went to Bubby's all the time (as you know).  One of the things I was addicted to were their peanut butter and jelly cookies.
Ever since I have been trying to find the recipe.  These are the closest I have got.  I adapted the recipe from Flagrante Delicia which was another great FoodGawker find.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies
Makes about 42 cookies

  • 260g Peanut Butter (I use a mix of an oil based paste from Whole Foods and regular smooth Peanut Butter)
  • 112g Salted Butter
  • 180g Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 240g Plain Flour
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla extract
  • 125g Raspberry Jam
  • 125g Blackberry Jam

  1. Preheat oven to 180 C
  2. Line two large baking sheets
  3. Beat butter till soft, then add peanut butter mix and brown sugar.  Beat until light and fluffy (you can't really over beat this so make sure to do it well to make the cookies light).
  4. Add the eggs one at a time beating in between till combined, then add vanilla.
  5. Sift the flour and baking powder into the mix.
  6. Take a palette knife and cut the mix together (as if making scones) touch the mix as little as possible and be very light handed this will guarantee that the cookies are light.  You only need to cut the mixture till is has just come together - THEN STOP!
  7. Take a melon baller and scoop balls of dough out and lightly roll them in your hands.  Then place them on the baking tray.  This way you will get a uniform bake in terms of size, colour and cook time.
  8. Then take another spoon (I have a very rounded measuring spoon I use, but many people do just as well with a thumb) and press the dough in the middle to make a well for the jelly later.  You need to press a slightly deeper whole than you want as the dough will puff a little during baking.
  9. Bake in the oven for about 8 minutes or until they are beginning to turn golden brown.
  10. Meanwhile take your jam and place it in a saucepan with a few tablespoons of water. Slowly warm the jam till it is a thick liquid, then push it through a sieve to make a clear jelly.
  11. Once the cookies are baked spoon one tsp of jelly into each well while the cookies are cooling.  If the jelly begins to harden lightly reheat it to make it more workable.  The warmth of the jelly is what gives you a lovely smooth finish.

Shoes Valentino (from Bicester Village), Bag Celine (vintage borrowed from my Mother), Cargo Pants Warehouse, Belt Hermes, Shirt and Jacket Zara, Cashmere Scarf from Venice and Sunglasses Ottica Mantovani.

I'm not really a huge pink person, but I really like to wear it as touches within an outfit. So these shoes were perfect for that.  When I saw them I thought they were beyond cute, and I still do.

P.S.   I just wanted to say a hugh thank you to everyone who ordered from my store since the new stock arrived.  I really am thrilled by everyones support!
